Thank you to all the Strings & Sol guests and artists who supported Positive Legacy’s mission to integrate music and service while we were in Puerto Morelos!

Day of Service & Cultural Connection

This year 60 fans and artists joined our day trip to Escuela Secundaria Tecnica 7 “Primero de Junio” in Puerto Morelos for service activities, education and celebration! This school hosts a reef rescue program which empowers students with hands-on experience in coral reef restoration and sustainable eco tourism skills. All the volunteers worked hard and cleaned up the school and beach, painted the basketball court and murals, improved the school’s gardens, built important signage and constructed the reef nursery framework. We are proud to partner with United Giving for Puerto Morelos, UNAM and the National Marine Park, local band TreeFunkers and members of Railroad Earth for making this day so special!

Charity Auction

This year's auction raised over $18,000 which will support Positive Legacy’s mission. A huge thanks to all the artists and fans who donated items, as well as Dave Vann and Josh Timmermans for donating their beautiful photography, and most especially to all the event guests who supported us with their bids. 

 

Activities

Thanks to all the S&S fans and artists that participated in poolside BINGO, the scavenger hunt, waterslide contest and Bling Your Sunglasses! We had a fantastic time with you!

Big thanks to all the event patrons who brought school & medical supplies, participated in our activities, tipped the celebrity bartenders, bid on auction items and made donations to Positive Legacy. We couldn’t do it without you!

The support from the artists was off the hook! From the bottom of our hearts we thank Railroad Earth, Greensky Bluegrass, Yonder, Leftover Salmon, The Del McCoury Band, The Travelin McCourys, The Lil Smokies, Lindsay Lou and Sierra Hull & Justin Moses for their love and support.

2022 RECAP

Thanks to all the Strings & Sol patrons for making the 10th year the best year yet!!

 

Day of Service
This year we were back out in the world to a local high school in Puerto Morelos, Collegio de Bachilleres, to put our gracious patrons to work. The day was comprised of finishing painting projects for new classrooms and an outdoor stage, gardening, recycling projects, and even hula hoop construction! After a good day's work, we all ate a glorious lunch and listened to the sounds of The Tree Funkers, our favorite local musical act. With our hearts and bellies full and music in our ears the Day of Service was once again a wild success!!

 

Charity Auction
This year's auction was a tremendous success raising over $13K between the silent and live auctions. We got treated with a storytellers session leading up to the live auction with Anders Beck and Tim Carbone. The live auction heated up for the banjo but in the end, we all went away happy with money going to a great cause. Once again a huge thanks to Dave Vann, Josh Timmermans and Dylan Langille for all the donated photography to the silent auction. And to all the patrons that come back year after year and participate in the auctions, we couldn’t do it without you.

 

Poolside Bingo
This year's Bingo was a great time! Big thanks to Leftover Salmon for taking the charge. There were lots of laughs and over $1500 made during the game.

2021 RECAP​

Big thanks to all the wonderful patrons and musicians of Strings & Sol for the fantastic showing after a long year off! There was no dust on any of them as Strings & Sol went fantastically well, raising significant funds for our environmental and humanitarian projects. Because we stayed onsite for this year’s Day of Service, it afforded us the opportunity to have two sessions of our special day. We partnered with Mike’s Amazing and Fundación RCD, and with the help of 50 guests working a well-oiled assembly line, we put together 400 bags of food items for local families in need. While stuffing bags, guests were treated to food, drinks, and live music from members of Greensky Bluegrass, Lil Smokies, Tim Carbone, and Lindsay Lou – which helped quicken the pace! The auction for Strings & Sol was a great success and folks came ready to bid! Regardless of who won, Your Rocktioneer® Seth Weiner made the auction fun for everyone, providing a great experience for giving to such a good cause and raising over $16,000! Poolside shenanigans were also in full effect and we loved being a part of guest celebrity Bingo with Matt Rieger (aka Rev from Lil Smokies), Squid Games, and a fan-led Fun Run – special thanks to Emily Love for setting this up and donating the proceeds to Positive Legacy! The opportunities were in abundance for us to raise money for the local community. Thank you Strings & Sol family... we couldn't do this without you!
