Join our Positive Legacy Programs During Jam Cruise 16

Positive Legacy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to integrate music and service to benefit people and the environment. Working in conjunction with Cloud 9 Adventures, Positive Legacy coordinates service projects for destination events in many different countries. Fueled by the power of music, and a passion for sustainability, Positive Legacy strives to transcend cultural boundaries by learning about the needs and aspirations of the communities we visit and serving them with action from musicians and fans!

Here are some easy and fun ways to engage in Positive Legacy at Jam Cruise 16:

Day of Service & Celebration with Positive Legacy & Jam Cruise Artists

Friday Jan 19th – Event DAY 3 – 9:00am-2:30pm (meet at PL HQ, Bar City Deck 6) TICKETS HERE!

Positive Legacy is excited to be returning to Roatan, Honduras for Jam Cruise 16!

Working in partnership with the SOL Foundation (School of Life) for our 4th time visiting Roatan. We will bring cruisers and musicians to the community of Sandy Bay for an activity-filled and beautiful day of service and celebration. Enjoy a day of cultural connection, interactive activities, lunch and music jam with Vince Herman, Keller Williams, Ryan Montbleau, Kat Wright & the lil’ Smokies; all while giving back to the local community!

Positive Legacy is supporting SOL with a $9,400 grant to create a community green space and playground. When we visit Roatan on January 19th, we’ll work together with community members to build vegetable and fruit garden beds, compost bins and a chicken coop. We’ll also build a new playground, all made out of recycled and found materials from the island. Those desiring something more artsy can paint a mural designed by Honduran graffiti artist REI Blinky.

Our group will be joined by the children and families that benefit from SOL’s community services, as well as the children & caretakers from Cattleya (kat-LAY-yah), Roatan’s local center for children & young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.  The kids are so excited for the opportunity to team up with Jam Cruisers to make the SOL project extra-”special!”

With this new green space both SOL and their partners BICA (Bay Island Conservation Association) will teach children how to cultivate food on the island. Taking a hands-on approach to health and wellness through educational programs that will benefit the children and the greater community, creating a special place to learn, play and grow.

At SOL, children and young adults are afforded a safe and positive environment for recreational and educational programs, that would otherwise be unavailable due to lack of resources in the area. Over 300 children are regularly involved at SOL, meeting daily to play sports, do artwork, read books and enrich their education. This safe space allows kids to be kids. For more information on SOL, visit their website at http://solroatan.org/

If you would like to attend the Day of Service & Celebration in Roatan, tickets can be purchased for $60 in advance, or $75 on the boat (if available). There will be a limited number of tickets available, so we recommend getting them ASAP. This event is rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable.

Hurricane Relief + The Gift of Education

Help rebuild schools in communities affected by the recent hurricanes!

We at Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures are deeply saddened by the destruction caused by the recent hurricanes that made landfall in the USA and Eastern Caribbean. Many communities have been destroyed and countless individuals and families have been displaced. Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures are proud to partner with Norwegian Cruise Lines and All Hands Volunteers to rebuild schools in communities devastated by the storms.

The need is vast and deep. With your help, All Hands Volunteers can rebuild schools in several communities affected by the hurricanes, so children can continue to learn as well as have some sense of structure and normality in their lives. With your help, and the generosity of Norwegian Cruise Lines matching the dollars raised by Positive Legacy, we can make an even greater impact. 100% of your donation will bring lasting hope to people in Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Cuba and the Florida Keys by rebuilding safe, resilient schools for children in these communities.

All Hands Volunteers is a US-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters by engaging and leveraging volunteers, partner organizations and local communities. Their vision is to demonstrate the power and value of volunteer service through the tangible work done, the hope it brings to suffering communities and the transformative experiences it provides for volunteers.
