Check out all the GOOD Positive Legacy did on Jam Cruise 16:
Positive Legacy was very excited to return to Roatan, Honduras for Jam Cruise 16 working with the SOL Foundation (School of Life) for our 4th time! We brought cruisers and musicians to the community of Sandy Bay for an activity-filled and beautiful day of service and celebration. We enjoyed a day of cultural connection, interactive activities, lunch and music jam with Vince Herman, Keller Williams, Ryan Montbleau, Kat Wright & the lil’ Smokies; all while giving back to the local community!
Positive Legacy supported SOL with a $9,400 grant to create a community green space and playground. When we visited Roatan on January 19th, we worked with community members on the following amazing projects…
We were joined by the children and families that benefit from SOL’s community services, as well as the children & caretakers from Cattleya (kat-LAY-yah), Roatan’s local center for children & young adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. The kids were very excited for the opportunity to team up with Jam Cruisers to make the SOL project extra-”special!”
With this new green space both SOL and their partners BICA (Bay Island Conservation Association) will teach children how to cultivate food on the island. Taking a hands-on approach to health and wellness through educational programs that will benefit the children and the greater community, creating a special place to learn, play and grow.
At SOL, children and young adults are afforded a safe and positive environment for recreational and educational programs, that would otherwise be unavailable due to lack of resources in the area. Over 300 children are regularly involved at SOL, meeting daily to play sports, do artwork, read books and enrich their education. This safe space allows kids to be kids. When that work was done, we enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the amazing SOL volunteer team. The day closed out with dancing and hula-hooping with the 40 new hoops we delivered (made by Jam Cruisers on Day 2) as we celebrated our cultural connection. We would like to thank our partners for hosting us, the Jam Cruise fans for joining us and the community members for participating in a memorable day.
We are pleased to announce that Positive Legacy was able to raise $21,595 in this year’s charity auction! Auction proceeds will support Positive Legacy’s continued environmental & humanitarian projects. Thank you to all of the Jam Cruise fans who bid in the auction. A special thank you to the musicians and their management, the fans/artists for supporting the auction with their custom donations, and Josh Timmermans and Dave Vann for their amazing photography. Many thanks to Amlak Tafari & Friends from Steel Pulse for providing the silent auction entertainment, and much appreciation goes out to Seth from Cloud 9 for guest auctioneering our live auction. This was one to remember!
A massive thank you to everyone who joined us for the Positive Legacy Celebration with Everyone Orchestra hosted and conducted by Matt Butler to celebrate all that we were able to accomplish with the Jam Cruise 16 Positive Legacy and Greening programs! The music and vibe was out of this world. We are forever grateful to all Matt Butler does to support us all year long!!
Positive Legacy and Trees, Water & People made it easy to travel responsibly, by offsetting the emissions from your travel to Jam Cruise. We appreciate those that donated and your generosity helped to fund tree planting and clean cookstove construction in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Cuba. If you were unable to offset you footprint at the event, please take this opportunity to feel empowered post event and leave your own positive legacy …because every party has an impact!

Help rebuild schools in communities affected by the recent hurricanes!
We at Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures are deeply saddened by the destruction caused by the recent hurricanes that made landfall in the USA and Eastern Caribbean. Many communities have been destroyed and countless individuals and families have been displaced. Positive Legacy and Cloud 9 Adventures are proud to partner with Norwegian Cruise Lines and All Hands Volunteers to rebuild schools in communities devastated by the storms.
The need is vast and deep. With your help, All Hands Volunteers can rebuild schools in several communities affected by the hurricanes, so children can continue to learn as well as have some sense of structure and normality in their lives. With your help, and the generosity of Norwegian Cruise Lines matching the dollars raised by Positive Legacy, we can make an even greater impact. 100% of your donation will bring lasting hope to people in Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Cuba and the Florida Keys by rebuilding safe, resilient schools for children in these communities.
All Hands Volunteers is a US-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that addresses the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters by engaging and leveraging volunteers, partner organizations and local communities. Their vision is to demonstrate the power and value of volunteer service through the tangible work done, the hope it brings to suffering communities and the transformative experiences it provides for volunteers.
